Funding

DMH

The Metro Boston CIT TTAC, as well as all other TTAC’s are funded by the Department of Mental Health (DMH). DMH is committed to helping individuals impacted by behavioral health receive necessary treatment. To learn more about DMH initiatives and services they provide, click here.

DMH recognizes the important role law enforcement play in jail/arrest diversion. They are also dedicated to supporting behavioral health training for law enforcement and are a great resource for departments looking for backfill. For more information on how to apply for click here. To access the application directly visit Comm Buys Operational Services Division.

Grants

Grants are a great way to cover expenses when sending officers to CIT training or other Mental Health related trainings. Check out the links below.

The Police Assisted Addiction & Recovery Initiative (PAARI) provides support and resources to help law enforcement agencies nationwide create non-arrest pathways to treatment and recovery.

PAARI partners with Departments who are interested in acquiring a Recovery Coach. Recovery Coaches are trained individuals who utilize a strength based support tool to provide outreach and follow support for people who are either actively using substances or in recovery.

Community Health Network Areas

Community Health Network Areas (CHNA) are another great resource for funding. If you would like to learn more about funding opportunities for your department, find your community below and follow the link. For a full list of CHNA’s click here.
