Psychological First Aid - FEBRUARY 2025 - OPEN

Psychological First Aid (PFA) is based on the evidence informed principles of safety, calming, connectedness, hope and self/community efficacy. Participants will learn to assist individuals to reduce distress after a potentially traumatic event. PFA is culturally informed and appropriate for all.

911 Operators play a crucial role in informing public safety response to individuals impacted by behavioral health. This 8 hr. program is designed to provide dispatch with an overview of the goals of CIT and the critical role that dispatchers play in supporting residents as well as public safety.

Advanced De-Escalation & Documentation – MARCH 2025 – Somerville - open
Location: Somerville Police Department
Training Dates: March 19 & March 20
Time: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (each day)
This two day course will be a scenario based training utilizing the sim-munitions house and class room didactics to further enhance tactical and verbal de-escalation skills. This course also incorporates a Motivational Interviewing component specifically designed to provide officers with an overview of effective MI communication strategies to best strategically engage and strengthen executive functioning of individuals in crisis impacted by trauma. Documentation and report writing will be integrated to address efficient communication and documentation of de-escalation tools utilized.
