CIT FOR CHIEFS & ADMINISTRATORS - NOVEMBER 2024 - OPEN

Location: Brickstone Square (Andover)

Training Date: November 12 & November 21

Time: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM (each day)

Partnering with leaders in law enforcement and the mental health system to create this specialized training, CIT for Chiefs and Administrators is aimed at providing a brief but purposeful high level overview and understanding of concepts and skills reinforced in CIT and considerations for sustaining these skills post training. This year’s program will focus on effective and efficient communication strategies as participants explore how to utilize social media to increase collaboration within the community, demonstrate their departments values and services through various public information strategies, and gain further understanding of crowd management and 1st Amendment Rights. Specific emphasis will include dispatch and officer wellness programs.

CIT - DECEMBER 2024 - ANDOVER - OPEN

Location: Andover Police Department

Training Dates: December 4, 5, 6 & 10, 11

Time: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (each day)

CIT is a 5 day, 40 hour training aimed at improving response to individuals impacted by mental illness, developmental disabilities and substance abuse.  It covers several topics such as: Complex Psychiatric Conditions, Crisis Negotiation, Addiction, Mood Disorders, and many more!

CIT - JANUARY 2025 - SOMERVILLE - OPEN

Location: Somerville Police Department

Training Dates: January 22, 23, 24 & 28, 29

Time: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (each day)

CIT is a 5 day, 40 hour training aimed at improving response to individuals impacted by mental illness, developmental disabilities and substance abuse.  It covers several topics such as: Complex Psychiatric Conditions, Crisis Negotiation, Addiction, Mood Disorders, and many more!

Psychological First Aid - FEBRUARY 2025 - OPEN

Location: Andover Police Department

Training Date: Tuesday, February 11

Time: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Psychological First Aid (PFA) is based on the evidence informed principles of safety, calming, connectedness, hope and self/community efficacy. Participants will learn to assist individuals to reduce distress after a potentially traumatic event. PFA is culturally informed and appropriate for all.

 

CIT for Dispatchers - February 2025 - OPEN

Location: Andover Police Department

Training Dates: Monday, February 24, 2025

Time: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

911 Operators play a crucial role in informing public safety response to individuals impacted by behavioral health. This 8 hr. program is designed to provide dispatch with an overview of the goals of CIT and the critical role that dispatchers play in supporting residents as well as public safety.

 

CIT - march 2025 - andover - OPEN

Location: Andover Police Department

Training Dates: March 5, 6, 7 & 11, 12

Time: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (each day)

Advanced De-Escalation & Documentation – MARCH 2025 – Somerville - open

Location: Somerville Police Department

Training Dates: March 19 & March 20

Time: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (each day)

This two day course will be a scenario based training utilizing the sim-munitions house and class room didactics to further enhance tactical and verbal de-escalation skills. This course also incorporates a Motivational Interviewing component specifically designed to provide officers with an overview of effective MI communication strategies to best strategically engage and strengthen executive functioning of individuals in crisis impacted by trauma. Documentation and report writing will be integrated to address efficient communication and documentation of de-escalation tools utilized.
